Green Diagonals Scarf (2024)

Pattern: Roughly based on the Multidirectional Diagonal Scarf freebie pattern I got from Ravelry
Yarn: Queensland Collection Sugar Rush (Mint) and Alchemy Bamboo (Good Earth — dark green)

Method: Handknit (4mm needles), with crochet trim (5mm hook)
Completed: April 1, 2024.

In March – May 2023, I worked on knitting the triangles of the “multidirectional scarf”. I alternated between the light green (mint) and the dark green, as seemed sensible. I did it all in stockinette stitch (because I’m just not a fan of garter) and then flipped which side was knit when I changed colours. The project sat for a bunch of months as I pondered finishing touches. In the end, I went with Pattern #238, page 170 of the “Complete Book of Crochet Border Designs.

I blocked it, because the triangles weren’t sitting well. One of the skeins of the bamboo (and, I’m pretty sure it was just one) bled badly. In fact, as I was knitting, I had noted that some of the dark green yarn felt really crunchy — too much dyestuff, I guess. The dye was not properly set. I eventually just stopped trying to rinse it out. I’ll have to keep that in mind for any future washing. As it stands — I think you can see the line where I started the second skein, because only one of them bled out.
